Bob Custer (real name Raymond Anthony Glen), was the hero of several silent westerns produced in the 1920s. In this movie, his last, his rich baritone voice comes alive. When Ma Potters son is shot in cold blood, she comes out with her guns blazing.
THE PLOT : Marshall Bruce Mannings biggest challenge is to prevent the ranchers in Paradise valley from running out new settlers who think they have equal rights. Manning is in love with Ann Marshall, the daughter of a rancher. Her brother Clay shoots a nester in cold blood and is on the run. Realizing that war between the ranchers and settlers was now imminent; Manning takes Clay into protective custody. Clays father believes his son to be innocent and rescues him. In the meanwhile, Ma Potter, the slain mans mother is swearing revenge and abducts Ann. In the ensuing gun battle, Clay is mistakenly shot by his father. The dying man confesses his crime and the movie ends predictably with both bereaved families agreeing to share the land.
EDITORIAL REVIEW : Paradise valley offers refuge and the promise of a better future to nesters who flock to it only to be turned back by resident ranchers. When young Joel Potter tries to reason out with rancher Morgans son Clay, he is shot in cold blood. For Marshal Manning, nothing could be worse. He is caught between his devotion to duty and his love. He has to arrest Clay his fiancés brother and risk loosing Ann. Ma Potter, Joels mother settles the issue for everybody by kidnapping Ann and forcing the Morgans out into the open. When the dust settles, Clay Morgan is dead , felled by a bullet from his fathers gun, but not before he confesses to his crime. Paradise valley is now thrown open to settlers
